PROJECTS

ENCOURAGING

ADOPTVE FAMILIES

Founders of The Potter's Work have a collective history that includes supervisory experience in a residential children's home, foster care, and adoptive family interventions. This experience provides mentoring connections and a knowledge base that has created resource opportunities for encouraging families who desire to adopt.

ENCOURAGING

FOSTER FAMILES

The Franklin County, Pennsylvania area has no shortage of opportunities for families who wish to welcome vulnerable children into their homes. Several local agencies provide training, foster care stipends, and ongoing support for permanency plans for children who need a stable environment that enables flourishing relationships.

AIDING

SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS

The Potter's Work provides tuition assistance funds to vulnerable children with a desire for Christian education. We have a three tiered priority screening that seeks to aid students with demonstrated financial needs and a evident work ethic in all academic pursuits. First priority goes to students enrolled at Providence Christian Academy, Chambersburg, PA, USA. The Potter's Work provided seed money for founding of this US based school and is searching for other means to continue its support into the future.

AIDING

MINISTRY SUPPORT

The Potter's Work aims to aid ministries currently serving orphaned and vulnerable children to the glory of God. We do this by referral or financial support of vital research and practice that seeks wisdom in delivering discernment in charitable practices. The worldwide discussion about placement in families and avoiding institutionalization is ongoing. For war-torn or disease ridden areas, orphanages serve a real purpose, if even for short-term shelter. Our primary support is for Christian education for orphaned and vulnerable children

EDUCATING

PROVIDENCE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

It has been a major aim of this ministry to foster education of the most vulnerable even in our own neighborhood first. Therefore, in from 2013-2015, The Potter's Work provided seed money for the founding of Providence Christian Academy, a private 501(c)(3) school in Chambersburg, PA dedicated to educating the vulnerable. Visit the school website here.

EDUCATING

ORPHAN HERITAGE SOCIETY

We are seeking to found an Orphan Heritage Society consistent with our Christian convictions with the aim of educating members and the public regarding historic efforts to care for orphaned and vulnerable children in the Franklin County, PA and the surrounding areas. The hope is to encourage present-day ministries to vulnerable children by studying the historical example in the Central Pennsylvania area.
